Learning Support Co-Ordinator


Reporting to: Head of Student Services

Contractual Hours: Between hours of  9am - 6pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week, occasional Saturdays with some flexibility required)

Person Specification

The post holder will have a key role in upholding all Student Support systems and will support students within the learning environment to assist their academic, intellectual, social and emotional development. 

They will ensure all students learning support needs are met and that each student completes their studies and achieve to the highest level and progress, creating personal study plans for each student. With their specialist skills and through collaborative working across Student Services, they will contribute to our goals of high student satisfaction, achievement and employability.

Essential Criteria for Applicant

  • Computer literate with an excellent knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels 
  • Experience of working in a learning support role 
  • Knowledge of learning difficulties and disabilities such as dyslexia, Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, visual impairment
  • Awareness of mental health issues and the impact this has in FE and HE
  • Teaching Qualification (PG Cert, PGCE, ideally relating to disability support, SpLds, Autism)
  • Experience of providing support for complex pastoral care/disability needs (SpLds and Mental Heath)
