Experimental Officer in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

Do you have experience implementing state of the art Nuclear Magnetic Resonance methodology? Are you passionate about delivering exceptional research support in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

As an Experimental Officer in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) you will be expected to maintain our extensive suite of NMR instruments (600 MHz (Jeol), 500 MHz Cryo-probe, 500 MHz, 400 MHz and 300 MHz (all Bruker)) used for research and teaching purposes. You will also assume a prominent role in supporting postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers to implement state-of-the art NMR methodologies to add value and ensure the highest impact outputs can be achieved in areas encompassing supramolecular chemistry, chemical biology, catalysis, organic synthesis, process research and co-ordination chemistry. 

With a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline, you will have a strong track record in the development and application of NMR methods to research challenges, and, enthusiasm for interdisciplinary and collaborative research. You will have the ability to use IT effectively. You will be expected to maintain awareness of the latest developments in NMR spectroscopy and where appropriate have the opportunity to acquire additional training so as to maintain your skill base. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at all levels and an enthusiastic approach to promoting the use and application of NMR to societal challenges contributing to the PR and public engagement activities of the School.
