Queen's University Belfast - Centre for Experimental Medicine - School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences

The mission of the Centre for Experimental Medicine (CEM) is to understand the mechanisms of disease and use that understanding to develop innovative new treatments and therapies to improve patient outcomes.

This post is available to proactively secure new business and funded research opportunities and develop collaborative relationships for the Centre with external organisations including, large and small companies, international research organisations and government bodies. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will contribute to the development of proposals together with other staff members. The post holder will also contribute to the outreach activities of the Centre focusing on the dissemination of the research of the Centre.

The successful candidate must have:

  • An honours degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience of developing relationships between academia and other stakeholders (funding bodies and companies).
  • A proven track record managing research development proposals involving different stakeholders.
  • Proven experience of developing relevant international relationships in an academic environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of identifying suitable opportunities to enhance the research portfolio of an academic unit and/or a commercial enterprise.
  • Working experience of engaging with senior officials of funding bodies and/or government.
  • Experience of analysing information and contributing towards the decision-making process.
  • Relevant marketing or PR experience.

Salary scale: £39,992 - £49,149 per annum (potential to progress to £52,132 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
