Professional Placement Careers Consultant

University of Reading - Student Services - Careers & Employability

We are recruiting for an additional Careers Consultant to join the Careers Consultancy team here at Reading, with a particular focus on developing our support of students taking a Professional Placement Year as part of their degree.

We’re looking for a careers professional who is a proactive, collaborative team-player, ready to liaise across teams, champion student engagement and coordinate our support for this project, which is strongly correlated with positive employability outcomes.

This is an exciting time to join us at Reading. As well supporting the project to enhance our Professional Placement Year you will coordinate and champion our support for students not doing a Placement Year to gain key work experience in other ways, support a reduced student caseload with 1:1 support, curricular and extra-curricular workshops and provide consultancy to academic leaders of your department to support the developments for employability in their curricula.

Your work will help us continue to develop our careers and employability provision at Reading together; providing a transformative experience for our students.

We’re looking for someone with experience of working in Higher Education, a relevant professional qualification, a positive and pro-active attitude and excellent collaboration, planning, communication and IT skills.
