Business Development Manager (East Midlands Centre of Excellence - Satellite Applications)

We are recruiting a dynamic results focused Business Development Manager to design, develop and drive forward a programme of activity which will promote the use of satellite data amongst the business community in the East Midlands region. The role will nurture collaborations between academia and industry in the region, and to act as a regional agent for the Catapult.

You will proactively contribute to long term strategic/planning activities of the centre by developing and delivering a business development programme across the East Midlands. The role will be critical in supporting the development of commercial applications using satellite data and as such, the emerging Space Park Leicester development. You will need to adopt a proactive and innovate approach to brokering exploitation and application of EO data. The successful will possess marketing expertise, commercial acumen, networking and management skills. Working within a broader matrix team of Space and EO business and innovation colleagues the post holder will bring the skills to grow existing businesses, nurture new business relations and initiate collaborative projects and funded applications.

This is a fixed term post funded to April 2020, University of Leicester is the employer and joint funder of The East Midlands Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications (EMCOE) in partnership with British Geological Survey (BGS) and NERC National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) the Satellite Applications Catapult and the UK Space Agency.
