Productivity Programme Manager

Lancaster University - Business Engagement

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) in the role of Productivity Programmes Manager.

Productivity is vital. The UK currently trails the top countries in the world in terms of productivity. Since the 2008 recession, productivity has stagnated within UK. Whilst there are many avenues to improving productivity there is compelling evidence that a key contributing factor is the inability of organisations to harness the full potential and capability of the workforce.

LUMS is committed to engagement with business and has recently established a central Business Engagement Team to build and maintain partnerships, networks and engagement activities with business and policy makers. The team undertakes outstanding work in the fields of executive education and customised programmes for large, small, public and private sector organisations; provides a gateway to access academic research and expertise; and facilitates and enables work with the student body.

You will be working within the Management School to design, manage and deliver on productivity programmes, putting into practice your considerable skills in project management, specifically on the oversight of high-profile SME engagement programmes with significant industrial partners.

This is a challenging role for an enthusiastic and driven professional with the experience to manage the delivery and shape the design of productivity programmes for SMEs at Lancaster University Management School. You will have excellent event management, marketing and promotion skills and experience of developing networks of SMEs and building relationships with intermediary bodies.

The role is fixed for 12-months in the first instance until 31 January 2019.

For an informal discussion of the role, please contact Gill Peers, Business Engagement Manager (g.peers@lancaster.ac.uk)

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
