Weekend/Evening Attendant

We require a reliable, practical and responsible person, with good interpersonal and communication skills, to staff the Main Library/URS during evening/weekend opening for study and self-service use.

You will work as a member of a small team, each undertaking regular reception desk duties, cleaning duties and regular building patrols, so as to ensure a safe environment for Library users and provide basic information. You will also be responsible for securing the building at closing time. Experience of building caretaking, cleaning and security or reception would be an advantage.

You will have:

  • A good general education to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Good interpersonal skills for customer care and team working.
  • The ability to uphold Library rules and our Code of Conduct politely but firmly.
  • Willingness to undertake a University First Aid course.
  • The ability to cope with the physical demands of the job.
