English Study Programmes Co-ordinator

University of Salford - Salford Languages

Salford Languages will build on the University’s existing national and international reputation for its innovative applied approach to language teaching and learning. Our English Language Centre was recently ranked number one UK University ELC for teaching, based on analysis of all current British Council Accreditation UK inspection reports. Teaching and Learning in Salford Languages benefits from a state-of-the-art 750m² Language Resource Centre.

A range of ELT provision is delivered by Salford Languages, including pre-sessional and foundation-level programmes designed for prospective students whose English-language competence precludes direct entry onto their chosen programme of study, as well as in-sessional English language support provision and finally non-specialist modern language learning via the University-wide Language Programme.

In a new and more commercially driven environment, it is essential that all the English Study Programme Co-ordinators adopt a flexible approach collaborating with tutors, staff across Salford Languages and professional services in order to deliver courses effectively and respond to a fast-moving and increasingly sophisticated marketplace.

The English Study Programme Co-ordinator will be responsible for a team of tutors and, in consultation with other Course Co-ordinators and the Academic Delivery Manager, will ensure the enhancement of the student experience by contributing to the development of a more ‘holistic’ learning framework which is customer focused and integrates international students in to the daily life of the University.

In addition, the role supports and contributes to the pastoral support of students as well as internal and external quality assurance procedures.
