The Frontline Organisation

The Delivery Director is responsible for leading the delivery of the Frontline programme, a large and innovative social work education programme. The role sits on the organisation’s senior leadership team and will be one of the most senior social work qualified posts in the charity. The successful candidate will work very closely with the Chief Programmes Officer, line manage Heads of Region and will collaborate closely with the Head of Curriculum who leads the team designing the programme.

The role currently focusses on the Frontline programme but our strategy for the coming years will require much closer working with other programme teams (such as Firstline) and part of the job will be to implement changes in this respect. For the purposes of this job description, programme refers to the Frontline programme.

You will lead this exciting and challenging area of work through our Heads of Region (HoR). Frontline currently has five HoR who are responsible for the delivery of the Frontline programme in a defined geographic area. The HoR group are experienced and skilled social work practitioners and educators who have a background in statutory local authorities or university social work education. Each regional team is made up of Practice Tutors who lead the development programme for 16 participants, Relationship and Development Managers who manage the partnerships with local authorities and Regional Coordinators who provide administrative and logistical support to the regional team. You will be supported in leading this large team by the Chief Programmes Officer who oversees all of Frontline’s programmatic activity, including the Firstline programme. You will need to work particularly closely with the recruitment team who attract and select candidates for the programme and the design team who develop the curriculum and teaching resources.

The director will be responsible for leading the delivery of one of the largest and most innovative social work qualifying programmes in the country. As the director, you would be a member of the senior leadership team for the charity and carry significant responsibility for a programme that will soon be bringing over 300 individuals into the profession each year.
