The Department of Social and Policy Sciences invites applications for a post at the level of Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) or Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in social work at the University of Bath. The Department is a world class centre for research and teaching excellence, committed to interdisciplinary, impactful and progressive research.

We are looking to recruit an academic who will make a significant contribution to research and teaching capacity in social work at Bath. The successful candidate will have a developing track record of independent and impactful research of international standing, and be expected to publish in top rated international journals, sustain a leading research programme, and be active in submitting applications for external funding. The candidate must also have a strong interest in pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and in supervising graduate students. All applications must show how they meet the essential criteria outlined in the relevant job description.

We welcome applicants with a doctorate in any subfield of social work and are particularly keen to strengthen the department’s interests in adult care, including end of life care; mental health; child protection and care; international social work; social work and welfare.
