An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Database Officer to join the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) based within the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences in the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford.

As OCTRU Database Officer, working closely with the OCTRU programming team, you will ensure that trial programming provision enables and proactively supports excellent research with high quality fully validated systems. Duties will include triaging support desk enquires for all previously developed and ongoing software and testing developed software against the testing criteria. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Unit’s data management systems and you will ensure that all systems are in compliance with the unit Standard Operating Procedures.

You will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and have familiarity with Microsoft Office products. You will be well organised with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple demands and have excellent attention to detail. Experience of database administration is essential, as is the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and independently. Support desk experience and experience of data manipulation/analysis and management would be desirable.

This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 2 years in the first instance.
