Salary: £27,285 to £29,799 pa with potential to progress to £32,548 pa on achieving designated skills and experience

Grade: UH6

FTE: Full time position working 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Are you interested in Microbiology?

We need someone to lead a small team of technical staff and manage our microbiology laboratories. You will manage the maintenance and operation of all microbiology laboratory equipment, organize and prepare materials and equipment for practicals, demonstrate their safe use and provide specialist technical support for biosciences and pharmacy teaching and research. This will include the management of the microbiology sample collection.

We are looking for a microbiologist with considerable experience of working within a microbiology laboratory in a technical role and a degree in a biosciences subject or equivalent. You will also need some experience of managing junior technical staff and resources, as well as experience in health and safety management in a microbiology context.  Teamworking, adaptability, good communication, numeracy and an ability to demonstrate techniques are all essential.

Adaptable and eager to learn you will be self-motivated and an excellent communicator with an attention to detail.
