We have a range of well-established criminology programmes taught by a team of research active staff. Areas of expertise include terrorism and counter-terrorism, youth violence, gangs, extremism and hate crimes.

Contributing to all aspects of the School’s work, including staff development activities, you will raise the School’s research profile and lead and develop the School’s work both in terms of taught courses and in research, consultancy and income generation by developing and promoting appropriate strategies.

Educated to degree level, ideally with a Masters qualification or Doctorate in a relevant discipline, your excellent interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills enable you to communicate your academic findings to a wide audience and to teach at any level which will have been demonstrated in your experience of teaching in higher education or training in a professional context. Successful in capturing research grants you will also have an outstanding track record of research projects and REF-able research output.
