The Accreditation Unit at the RCP are seeking to appoint to an exciting post. The post holder will have an important strategic and operational role in developing and managing the activities, resources and staff of the Accreditation Unit.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and overseeing business and financial processes (including budgets).
  • Contract development, negotiation, quality assurance, monitoring and performance management of contract delivery.
  • Investigating, identifying and developing new activities and new business relationships.
  • Proactively developing and maintaining relationships with customers and stakeholders.

We are looking for an individual with excellent business and contracting knowledge, competencies and experience. You will need outstanding organisational skills and the ability to liaise and communicate confidently with a range of people. Experience of planning and working to deadlines, using your initiative and working flexibly as a member of a busy team are also essential qualities.

About CQID & Accreditation Unit
The Care Quality Improvement Department at the Royal College of Physicians aims to support physicians and their teams to deliver high quality clinical care for patients – we do this through a vibrant, varied work programme that includes accreditation, clinical guideline development, national clinical audit and healthcare quality improvement activities.

The RCP’s accreditation unit carries out quality improvement activities and assessment of clinical services across the UK and internationally in a programme designed to raise the overall standard of care provided to patients. We operate five schemes currently, working with many national and international partner organisations, clinicians, services and suppliers to deliver our programmes. The successful candidate will identify areas for growth and oversee good governance of our contracts.
