Background
With the recent development of the institutional strategic framework and the opportunity to engage with the new Learning and Teaching strategy, Canterbury Christ Church University has taken the opportunity to re-shape Library and Learning Resources to ensure it remains fit for purpose and future proofed.

As part of a departmental repositioning three exciting new senior leadership roles have been developed, each with a distinct focus to support and enhance the learning, teaching and research experiences of all students and staff within the University.

To deliver this ambition we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated individual to the new post of Head of Resources and Digital Discovery. You will contribute to the vision, leadership and management to Library and Learning Resources to bring new and innovative ideas to this arena and ensure best practice in service provision in order to deliver an excellent student experience.

The Role
As Head of Resources and Digital Discovery you will lead the provision, creation and discovery of resources to support learning, teaching and research. You will provide strategic leadership across the following work areas: procurement of physical and electronic resources; digital discovery and access, including metadata; and collection management across all campuses.

This is a senior leadership role within the directorate and you will work collaboratively with the Director of Library and Learning Resources and with the other members of the leadership team to shape the strategic direction for the department through a new organisational structure. The post offers the opportunity to engage in a number of strategically significant projects including the joint procurement and implementation of a new library management system with the universities of Kent and Greenwich.

Requirements
To apply for this post you will be educated to degree level in a relevant and related discipline, with experience of leading, managing and motivating teams. You should be a creative and strategic thinker, with experience of successfully leading and implementing change across a broad area of responsibility.
