IES is a leading independent research centre for evidence-based research and consultancy. Our people have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of research activities and we support them to enhance their research capability and develop their own area of research interest.

We are looking for a researcher who can:

  • Develop and prepare project proposals and research designs and generate significant income across two or more employment policy research subject areas, including welfare to work; vocational skills and education; equality and diversity; employment conditions and rights; work and health/wellbeing; and workforce planning and labour market change; and
  • Manage significant projects with minimal support.

Projects are usually carried out by multi-disciplinary teams, and involve travel throughout the UK, and occasionally overseas.

The Person

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • An extensive track record of winning and managing significant research projects across multiple policy areas and managing complex project teams effectively; and
  • Experience of effective line management
