Lecturer in Developmental Psychology

FTE: 1.0 FTE working 37 hours per week

The Psychology Subject Group within the Department of Psychology and Sport Sciences at the University of Hertfordshire has a strong focus on research informed teaching across our portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. There are more than 40 staff and 650 students inclusive of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and students registered for PhDs by research. One of our key strengths is the breadth of expertise including: health, clinical, developmental, cognitive-neuro, and movement psychology. In the REF 2014, our research environment was rated as internationally excellent and 55 percent of our research was also recognized as internationallPSYy excellent or world leading.

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual with expertise in developmental psychology to join our subject group.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, seeking to maintain high standards in learning, teaching and student assessment, alongside expanding the breadth of developmental research within the subject group. We have recently refreshed our undergraduate programme and particularly welcome applications from individuals who have relevant expertise to lead curriculum design and delivery in educational psychology also.

Skills and Experience Needed: It is essential to have experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level alongside a track record of research that is commensurate to stage of career.

Qualifications Required: The successful candidate will have a PhD in Psychology or a related discipline.
