UCLQ (UCL’s Quantum Science and Technology Institute) spans UCL’s activities in quantum technologies, incorporating some 35 Principal Investigators and their groups, mainly located in the departments of Physics and Astronomy, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and in the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN). This post will be based within the LCN, which is a UK-based multidisciplinary enterprise operating at the forefront of science and technology.

The post-holder will be responsible for the strategy and delivery of UCLQ’s communications, covering all areas of activity, including research, training and enterprise, as well as business development and user engagement for the institute.

This position is funded until 31 March 2021 in the first instance.

Applicants must have a higher degree qualification (MSc or PhD) or equivalent in the Sciences or Engineering. They should have excellent presentation skills and ability to liaise with media, press and other external parties. Other essential requirements include experience of producing print and online communications, press releases, reports and/or proposals. Strong organisational skills and a keen attention to detail are also essential. The ability to communicate and manage a large spectrum of clients and stakeholders, from corporate executives to bench scientists is essentially, as is an innovative and flexible approach – ideally learned in a fast-moving corporate environment.

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,635 - £41,864 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
