The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £43,023- £50,753 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

We are looking for a Innovation Policy and Strategy Manager to develop and monitor a delivery plan for the UCL Innovation and Enterprise strategy (under guidance from the Vice-Provost and UCL Innovation and Enterprise Directors) together with a comprehensive review and update of UCL’s internal innovation policies. Together, these will form our response to the UK Government’s Higher Education and Innovation policies and environment, and fulfil the ambitions set out in UCL’s 20-year strategy, UCL 2034.

The post holder will manage the Vice-Provost’s input into UCL 2034 implementation plans and progress updates; lead the development of updates to UCL’s Knowledge Exchange strategy as required by the Higher Education Funding Council for England; direct various research and consultancy projects; monitor policy developments, preparing briefings for senior staff and managing institutional responses to formal policy consultations.

Candidates will have in-depth knowledge and experience of both the Higher Education sector and Innovation policy and funding environment. The successful applicant will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to research, analyse and interpret complex policy documentation, in order to provide suitable summaries and briefings. Computer literacy and an ability to work both collaboratively and with minimal supervision are also essential.
