Swansea University - Finance

Salary: APM Grade 9 - £39,992 to £47,722 per annum (pro rata if part time), together with USS  pension benefits, if required. The normal expectation is that the successful applicant will be appointed to the minimum of the scale with annual increments on 1 October each year (subject to completing six months services).

This individual will be a part of the Financial Management Section of the Finance Department of the University and will be one of a team of Finance Managers and Business Partners who are responsible for leading Finance in the college within their remit, ensuring outcomes are aligned to maintaining and improving the College’s UK ranking and the University’s strategic aim of becoming a top-30 University. This role will have responsibility for the College of Arts & Humanities and the professional service departments of Student Services and Research & Innovation.

Highly visible and role modelling exceptional leadership, you will lead a cohesive and influential Finance function developing capability and insight in advance of organisation need.  You will understand the local and organisational business environment, identifying risks, providing insights and flexible, innovative solutions based on a long-term view of the organisation’s direction, shaping and aligning the Finance solution accordingly.

This role is to provide proactive professionally qualified support for the management of the Colleges’ budgets, ensuring the best use of resources and to contribute to the strategic and operational management of the College and professional service departments.

Acting with a strong sense of purpose and a dynamic vision for Finance, you will confidently advise and challenge Heads of College, Directors and relevant managers utilising your professional expertise.
