Research Manager (ARUK Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology PPIE/Communication Manager)

The ‘Centre’ Manager will work over both sites (UCL Medicine, within the Faculty of Medical Sciences and UCL GOS ICH, within the Faculty of Population Health Sciences). S/he will be employed by UCL and will have Honorary contracts with both GOSH and UCLH.  The post holder will manage the Centre Administrator and other team members (e.g. CRN-funded staff, study coordinators) as well as supporting research staff and students across the Centre. The successful candidate will be expected to work on their own initiative, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from Principal Investigators and Directors of the ‘Centre’. S/he will have autonomy and freedom to act independently. S/he will demonstrate enthusiasm and leadership when faced with challenges and provide operational management skills in the planning and execution of the work of the ‘Centre’.

This post is funded for 3 years in the first instance.

A First degree in science/healthcare related discipline or equivalent experience is required. Knowledge of Office Access or other  suitable computerised programme for database construction and Clinical Practice and Research Governance knowledge are also essential. Experience working in a clinical trials or University research environment would be advantageous.
