Job Purpose
To support the Director of Registry in the strategic and operational planning, development and leadership of all Registry services. Managerial responsibility for Registration, Student Immigration Compliance, Examinations and Financial Aid operations. To deputise for the Director in all managerial responsibility areas of the Registry in order to provide high quality, efficient and effective service delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To plan and manage major team activities in the areas of registration, student immigration compliance, examinations and financial aid in order to provide high quality efficient and effective services, which meet both corporate, and student needs.
  2. To line manage, develop and motivate the staff teams delivering these services to ensure the maintenance of appropriate and effective levels of administrative support. To include responsibility for annual performance, development and review process for direct reports.
  3. To take delegated responsibility for the management of service salary and consumables budgets.
  4. To administer and make decisions on the administration of the University’s Student Fee Refund/Reduction policy.
  5. To provide professional advice and guidance to staff and students on service policies and procedures concerning registration, student immigration compliance, examinations and financial aid and all other Registry activities as required.
  6. To take a key role in the support and successful delivery of graduation ceremonies including participation in public ceremonial functions.
  7. To liaise effectively with and maintain effective relationships with other University Services, academic Schools & Colleges and external organisations in order to ensure that their activities are co-ordinated effectively in support of Registry services.
  8. To develop and implement enhanced administrative policies and processes, which support strategic and operational objectives and which are responsive to internal and external demands.
  9. To provide professional advice and guidance to staff and students on all service policies and procedures.
  10. To be a member of the Departmental and Student Services Management Team and to contribute to the development and implementation of operational tactical and strategic plans and the management of change.
  11. To represent the Registry on senior University committees, such as Academic Standards Committee, and other projects and working groups.

Standard Terms & Conditions
Salary will be on the Management, Professional and Administrative Grade, level 8, £42,418 - £49,149 per annum.

This post is offered on a full time (35 hours) and open-ended basis.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities’ Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.
