The Post

The post holder will be part of International and Student Recruitment within the Directorate of Communications, Marketing and Recruitment, reporting directly to the Study Abroad and Exchanges Manager with whom he/she will work closely on all aspects of the University’s International Exchange and Erasmus+ programmes and supporting growth in study abroad student numbers.

The work will support and enhance the efforts of the Directorate of Communications, Marketing and Recruitment in line with the objectives and KPIs set out in the University’s Strategic Plan and Internationalisation Strategy.

Description of Duties

The post holder will:

  • Working with the Study Abroad and Exchanges Manager, administer all aspects of the University’s international exchange and Erasmus+ mobility programmes
  • Working with the Study Abroad and Exchanges Manager, develop and implement the University’s Erasmus+ Policy ensuring that institutional information regarding Erasmus+ policy is correct and up to date
  • Assist the Study Abroad and Exchanges Manager with management of the various budgets and operation of financial processes associated with exchange activities
  • Assist the Study Abroad and Exchanges Manager in the co-ordination and preparation of the annual submission of the University’s application, interim and final reports on student and staff mobility and grants to the European Commission and the UK National Agency
  • Liaise with colleagues in other University services (Accommodation Services, Student Programmes, Finance, Student Enrolment and Records) to ensure the smooth operation of the international exchange and Erasmus+ programmes (e.g. liaise with the Finance office for the administration and distribution of Erasmus+ grant funding)
  • Work with the ISR Information Officer to ensure all enquiries are responded to as in line with the customer services processes
  • Liaise with colleagues in Communications and Marketing in the preparation of publications and promotional/exhibition material as required, including the maintenance of social media sites to engage and support potential, current and returning study abroad and exchange students
  • Maintain and develop effective relationships and communications with overseas partner contacts and disseminate institutional information as and when required
  • Promote throughout the University the opportunities under Erasmus+
  • Participate with the promotion, application and selection processes for outgoing students in conjunction with the Study Abroad and Exchanges Manager and University Faculties
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of the exchange briefings and social events
  • Participate in the activities of the other integrated functions within the Directorate of Communications, Marketing and Recruitment, and carry out other duties as defined by the Study Abroad and Exchanges Manager, or the Director of International and Student Recruitment
