Advisor & Team Leader (Programmes & Planning)

Glasgow Caledonian University - Directorate of School Based Professional Services

Full time/Fixed Term Contract until July 2020

Glasgow Caledonian University is looking to appoint an Advisor & Team Leader (Programmes & Planning) to work within the new Directorate of School Based Professional Services. This opportunity is aligned to the Glasgow School for Business and Society, although the role is part of the cross-School Directorate and therefore you may at times be working within the other academic Schools.

The main purpose of the role will be to support the Head of Programmes and Planning and to be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of an assigned team of Programme Co-ordinators. As part of this, you will be required to ensure effective implementation of consistent systems and procedures, which meets the needs of all stakeholders, and which ultimately leads to the provision of an excellent student experience.

The successful candidate will have a first degree (or equivalent) and have the ability to demonstrate relevant leadership and administrative experience. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will be essential, whilst you will also have the ability to work on your own initiative, to problem solve and take independent decisions when required. You should be proficient in the use and management of integrated information systems, as well as having a demonstrable knowledge of the wider higher education environment and challenges.

If you would like to discuss in further detail, please contact David Moore, Head of Programmes & Planning, on 0141 331 8908 or email

As the University for the Common Good, we are committed to embedding equality and diversity, as well as our values in everything that we do. As such, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who demonstrate the GCU Values.

Applicants must have the continued right to live and work in the United Kingdom to apply for this vacancy.

Please note that the appointment will be made on the first point of the salary scale (unless by exception).
