This appointment is a Fixed Term Contact for 3 Year to start 1 June 2018 (The start date is negotiable, but the end date is constrained by the end date of the grant and can be no later than 31 May 2021).

The project is funded by the EPSRC grant "Foundations and Applications of Tropical Geometry" to work with Dr Diane Maclagan.

You will have a background in tropical geometry, combinatorial algebraic geometry, or related fields.

The project focuses on developing the foundations of tropical geometry, and in particular in further developing the theory of tropical schemes, and applying this technology to problems in algebraic geometry.

The specific projects can be tailored to your interests and background.
