Grade 7: £31,604 - £38,833 with a discretionary range to £42,418 p.a.

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral research assistants to join the growing team of informaticians in the Digital Health and Informatics theme of the NIHR Oxford Health BRC and Translational Neuroscience and Dementia group, a multidisciplinary team with biologists, data scientists/informaticians and clinicians, led by Professor Simon Lovestone. You will be based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford.

The posts are for a fixed- term (funded for 3 years with the possibility of extension).

You will use a range of data sources, ranging from medical information in unstructured medical records to large variable biomolecular data, to data from connected devices and employ advanced multivariate and machine learning statistics to drive translational research in mental health and dementia. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop skills and experiences in informatics and related data sciences and in neuroscience.

You will have or be close to completion of a PhD in neuroscience, genetics, epidemiology, public health, mathematics, engineering, computer science or a relevant discipline, along with programming experience in R, Matlab, Python, C++, or Java. Experience in machine learning and other multivariate statistical methods would be desirable.
