Technical Instructor - (18.5 hours per week)

University of Brighton - School of Sport and Service Management

The School of Sport and Service Management is one of the largest within the UK which offers a rich and dynamic history spanning over 110 years. Gaining a range of accreditations from national and international organisations we have a reputation of 'outstanding'.

In this varied and challenging role, you will join the existing team of technical instructors who provide support to academic staff in laboratory or seminar experiences across a range of sport and exercise science modules. The role will include preparation of the laboratory / seminar environments and delivery of in-depth technical instruction within the sport and exercise science laboratories.

In addition to the support for academic staff within taught modules the role will involve assisting dissertation students in the laboratories, providing practical support and guidance in conjunction with project supervisors. Your role will help to ensure that all procedures are carried out according to current health and safety regulations and may include assisting students with risk assessments for their project work. This role will also offer the opportunity to assist academic staff with curriculum development, laboratory accreditation, research, enterprise and partnership activity.

The role may require you to provide support across a broad range of modules and topic areas, so applications are particularly sought from individuals who have expertise in Sport/Exercise Psychology and at least one other Sport and Exercise Science discipline.

Hours and days of work can be discussed at interview.

Separate to the role, opportunity and encouragement will be given for appropriate candidates to register part time for a research degree, for which a fee waiver will be given.
