Bookings Assistant

Centre of the Cell is the first science education centre in the world to be located within medical research laboratories. The Centre is located in Whitechapel, Tower Hamlets, East London.

Applications are invited for the post of Bookings Assistant at the Centre of the Cell. The postholder will be responsible for processing school and public bookings for Centre of the Cell as well as processing invoices, dealing with phone and email queries and managing the bookings system. The postholder will also provide general administrative support to the Head of Operations and Head of Learning.

Candidates must have GCSE/O’ level in Maths and English or equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and experience of MS Word and MS Excel, have excellent communication skills, experience of working in a customer service environment, be able to organise a varied workload, and communicate effectively with a diverse range of organisations, groups and individuals. Excellent time management and organisational skills are essential.

The post is part-time (0.6FTE), fixed term appointment for 12 months, with an expected start date of April 2018 or soon after. Starting salary will be £21,271 (pro-rata) per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro-rata), defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
