NIHR Collaboration Operations Manager - Dementia Translational Research Collaboration - A111787A

Newcastle University - Faculty of Medical Sciences

The Faculty Office at Newcastle University on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is looking to appoint a NIHR Collaboration Operations Manager to play a significant role in the set up and delivery of the NIHR Dementia Translational Research Collaboration (Dementia TRC). The post will form part of the Dementia TRC core team working closely with the Collaboration’s appointed Chair, based at Newcastle University and the NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure (NOCRI) based in Twickenham.

The NIHR is a large, multi-faceted and nationally distributed organisation funded through the Department of Health. The NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure (NOCRI) works to maximise the Department of Health’s £0.5 billion investment in clinical research infrastructure through stimulating Translational Research Collaboration (TRC), bringing together clinicians and researchers across the UK focused on specific disease areas. The aim of the TRCs is to provide a simplified route for the life sciences industry.

You will support the Chair of the Dementia TRC having responsibility for the day to day operational management of the collaboration, being the first point of contact for related activities and lead in the development, setup and implementation of identified projects and work streams. You will initially support the setup of a virtual operations team and work closely with NIHR colleagues, research theme leads, principal investigators, and NHS research delivery staff nationally across the collaboration.

You will be a graduate in life sciences or a health-related field and be a self-motivated individual with ability to demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship building skills. You will have significant experience of operational management across complex organisations and be able to build working relationships across a wide geographical spread.

Please note the post holder will be an employee of Newcastle University and work closely with the Dementia TRC Chair but the post will physically be based at the NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure in their Twickenham Office.

Tenable until 31 March 2022.

Interviews will be held on Friday 16 March 2018 at Minerva House, 5 Montague Close, London SE1 9BB.

Informal enquiries should be directed to Lucy.Allen@nihr.ac.uk
