Sponsoring Company: Mekatek Ltd.

Academic Supervisor: Dr Peter Douglas

Project Aims:
This industrial research project will support the WEEE recycling operations of Mekatek Ltd. with elemental analysis of WEEE and output fractions of recycling processes. Data from material assays will be used to:

  • Determine materials purity in output fractions
  • Optimise compositions of material flows to downstream recovery processes by blending recycling output fractions for greatest economic return
  • Evaluate substance flows in recycling for process optimisation and minimisation of losses of economically and environmentally significant metals

Suitable Candidate:
Training in the use of analytical techniques will be provided but the successful candidate will be someone who is capable of independent, careful, and precise, laboratory work.
