Faculty / Directorate

The Centre for Learning and Study Support (CLaSS) based in the Directorate of Library and Learning Services are recruiting a 1FTE to join the CLaSS team of learning developers supporting academic practice, writing development and professional skills for students across De Montfort University.


You will work with students at all levels (Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research) and teach individual, small and large group lectures across all discipline areas, leading a range of learning development activities including 1:1 tutorials, workshops within the curriculum, drop-in sessions, open programme of workshops, as well as development of accessible inclusive online resources. The ‘face to face’ availability of the service extends to early evening and occasional weekend provision.

You will join a lively, enthusiastic and supportive team who have achieved a national reputation for the quality and range of their work with learners.

Ideal Candidate

You will be a graduate with teaching experience working directly with diverse HE learners in an academic development or learning development role. A teaching qualification and specialist qualification in specific learning differences are desirable. Expertise that complements or develops current specialisms within the team is required, as is experience of project work in practitioner-based pedagogic research.

This role will have a particular focus on the enhancement of learning development for students with disabilities, therefore applications from candidates with interest and expertise supporting students with disabilities eg., specific learning differences, autistic spectrum disorder, students with physical disabilities are welcome.
