The IESD at De Montfort University is a research led, multi-disciplinary group funded by research grants, consultancy and a masters programme. The School of Computer Science and Informatics offers industry standard facilities like our Cyber Security Centre and works with partners like Airbus and Deloitte. A researched environment, the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development equips students with the skills and specialist knowledge to solve real-world problems.


0.4 FTE from 1st April 2018 to 30th April 2019

GEOT€CH is a a four year project that has been underway since 2015. You will be responsible for DMU's deliverable which is to manage the installation, operation and data collection associated with an innovative dual-source heat pump in a 'hard to heat' property in Leicester. An understanding of energy flows associated with borehole heat exchangers is essential.

The research assistantship will be paid as a stipend suitable for a PhD student currently studying for a PhD in an area related to geothermal heating systems for domestic buildings.

You will be a skilled and committed research assistant to assist in the management, modelling and data analysis associated with DMU's role in an EU H2020 project.

A good honours degree and/or masters in a related area are required and Spanish language ability is desirable. You will be awarded a PhD stipend in addition to their salary, at normal RCUK rates.
