Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies School Scholarships

Scholarship awards are available to students wishing to study in the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies at the University of East Anglia for entry in September 2018:

  • We are offering two scholarships worth 50% of tuition fees for academic excellence. Due to funding restrictions these scholarships are only available to UK/EU students.
  • £1,000 scholarships will be available for international students awarded on academic merit by achieving IELTS (or equivalent) 7.5 overall with at least 6 in each component, and the overall strength of their application.

The School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies at the University of East Anglia

The School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies brings together staff and students studying a wide range of subjects including politics, international relations, broadcast journalism, media, public policy, philosophy, language competency, intercultural communication and translation studies.

The School is interdisciplinary bringing together teaching and research strengths in these areas and developing a growing reputation for intercultural communication through the history of ideas, philosophical thinking, language and understanding the power, meaning and practice of communication.

In the Research Excellence Framework (REF2014):

  • Language and Communication Studies came fifth in the UK with 74% of its research rated 4* (world leading) or 3* (internationally excellent).
  • 70% of research in Politics and International Relations was rated 4* (world leading) or 3* (internationally excellent), with 90% of the impact profile judged to be “world leading” or “internationally excellent”.
  • 67% of researcher in Philosophy was rated 4* (world leading) or 3* (internationally excellent). Additionally, the impact of our Philosophy research was rated eighth in the UK in the Times Higher Education REF2014 rankings.
