Vocational Area Supervisor - Bricklaying

The purpose of this position is to act as Vocational Area Supervisor, across all areas within the Construction Team and elsewhere within the College as required for academic and commercial activities.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to having to:

  • Provide high quality supervision of students in the subject areas required, given the resources available and within the agreed and approved current timetable.
  • Control stock and issue tools and materials to students in the workshops and construction site area.
  • Keep accurate and up to date registers of classes supervised of student attendances, lateness and marks.
  • Undertake such training as may be required and requested for such development.
  • Provide active support to individual students.

We expect suitable candidates to have:

  • Level 3 qualification relevant to Bricklaying.
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or willingness to work towards.
  • Sound practical knowledge of relevant trade ie. Bricklaying.
  • Working knowledge of the commercial environment of the relevant subject area especially Bricklaying Knowledge of current qualification structure.
  • Significant experience, at a supervisory level, in the commercial environment of the relevant subject area.
  • Recent successful professional experience in the relevant area.
  • An understanding of, and demonstrable commitment to, Safeguarding Children and Young People (Every Child Matters) and Vulnerable Adults.
