About the role:
The Department of Vision and Hearing Sciences is a leading provider of optometric and ophthalmic dispensing education in the UK. With state of the art teaching and clinical facilities and a history of innovation, we seek forward thinking individuals to help us continue our record of success by appointing a number of new part-time, teaching focussed roles in optometry and ophthalmic dispensing.

With a degree or relevant professional qualification, you’ll be a General Optical Council (GOC) registered Optometrist or Dispensing or Contact Lens Optician (with the ability to supervise undergraduate trainee optometrists or dispensing opticians (For Senior Lecturer Practitioner grade 6: Extensive Post Qualification CPD and/or Higher degree). You’ll have successful experience as a practising optometrist or dispensing/contact lens optician. We are especially interested to hear from applicants with specialist experience in ocular disease (for the optometry focussed role) and visual optics and contact lenses (for the dispensing focussed role), though interests in other related areas are also welcome.
