St Lawrence University (USA) London Programme

The St. Lawrence London Semester Programme (a UK charity), based in London, will appoint a Director for a one-year, non-renewable term for the 2018-19 academic year. The Director's duties include supervision of the academic programme, faculty, and academic standards; overseeing the programme budget; teaching the interdisciplinary core course called Encountering Global London, including designing and leading field trips; teaching an elective course relevant to the needs of the programme; advising, mentoring and supporting students through the experience of cultural immersion; overseeing the safety and security of students, staff and property; ensuring programme compliance with United States and New York State laws and regulations governing educational administration; and supervising all other aspects of the programme. 

Applicants must have a PhD in a social science, extensive teaching experience at a US liberal arts college and evidence of excellence in teaching, including interdisciplinary teaching; administrative experience as a department chair; familiarity with the student population, curriculum, teaching and grading standards, and academic and social policies of a US liberal arts college; experience working or living in England or Ireland; and familiarity with US New York state laws and regulations governing educational administration.  In addition candidates should have training in New York State and U.S. federal regulations concerning sexual misconduct and educational equality.

The salary will be between £66,000 and £69,000.
