Salford Law is proud of it’s reputation as a provider of an academically rigorous and practically relevant legal education. It has developed a pro bono offering (CLOCK) and is in the process of expanding these activities. The department has responded proactively to changes in the nature of legal education, legal business formations, and the employment destination of law graduates. This has resulted in the production of a suite of five new law degree programmes and two new LLM programmes, which are designed to reflect the changing nature of the legal working environment. At the core of these new degrees is the aim to prepare students for the possibility of employment in both the traditional legal professions as well as within commercial and third sector organisations. This development has the stated aim of increasing the employment prospects for graduates of Salford Law. In response to the new degrees, student recruitment onto the LLB Programmes has almost doubled in the period 2014-2017 whilst increasing entry grades. Salford Law is also proud of its NSS results which place it amongst the leading law providers in the country for student satisfaction. We are particularly proud of our NSS results in 2017 which produced a satisfaction rating of 100% for our Law Combined programmes (1st in the survey) and 95% for our LLB Law programme. These outstanding achievements coupled with our research outputs have resulted in substantial rises in all the recognised league tables for Salford Law. The research culture within the department is vibrant, inter-disciplinary and supportive of all forms of research. At present we have particular research strengths in the areas of EU Law, International Law, Public Law, Jurisprudence, Cyber Law, Media Law, Employment Law, Contract law, Intellectual Property, and Legal History but we welcome all disciplinary research.

The success of these programme innovations has led to an expansion of the staff base. In light of this sustained success, Salford Law within Salford Business School is now seeking to recruit at least four more full-time academic staff members. Whilst Salford Law welcomes applications in all fields of legal expertise, we would particularly welcome applications in relation to Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Law and I.T., Law and A.I., Client Care Skills, English Legal Skills, Equity, and Contract Law.
