Lectureship in Computer Science

The School of Computer Science & Information Technology (CSIT) invites applications for the position of permanent Lecturer in Computer Science. UCC will soon launch a new BSc in Data Science and Analytics, and in that regard, candidates with relevant teaching interests (e.g. data analytics, databases, machine learning, cloud services) are sought. Applications from candidates who have research expertise that is aligned with the Insight Centre for Data Analytics are especially welcome. The School seeks to appoint a dynamic academic who will contribute to its research-led teaching ethos and play a key role in the School’s growth.

The School of CSIT has 26 full-time academic staff and offers degrees at bachelors, masters, and doctoral level. The School has a strong research track record, and ranked very highly in the recent Research Quality Review. Professors in the School have leadership roles in four large-scale national research centres: CONFIRM – Research Centre for Smart Manufacturing; CONNECT – Research Centre for Future Networks; Insight – Centre for Data Analytics; and Lero – Irish Software Research Centre. This lectureship is aligned with Insight, and the appointed candidate will be invited to participate actively as a member of that Centre.

Appointment may be made on the Lectureship below or above the Bar Scale: €33,149 - €58,547/€63,987 - €82,273.

NOTE: The appointee must be able to take up the position by September 1st 2018 at the latest.
