Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Modern Islam which is tenable from 1 September 2018.

You must have a PhD in a relevant field, submitted or very near completion, and demonstrable university-level teaching experience in modern Islamic cultural studies and/or history, focusing on the Middle East. Your research may focus on any aspect of modern Islam in the Middle East. You must be fluent in English and, ideally, in Arabic too. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to empathise with students. Experience with virtual learning environments and in developing online teaching materials are highly desirable.
