IT Project Manager - ReFLECT (Lecture Capture) and WorkLoad Planning

This is a full time (1 FTE), fixed term post for 2 years.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a designated IT project on schedule/within budget, to agreed quality standards. You will be responsible for two significant projects at Oxford Brookes University (OBU): 1) ReFLECT project, which will develop a strategy for how lecture capture will be used at OBU, procure and implement a technological solution, assist in the business transformation to use the technology, and 2) WorkLoad Planning, which will continue the procurement of a solution, implement the solution, and assist in the business transformation for the solution. You will be working in an ITIL aligned organisation. As part of the IT Programme Management Office (PMO) you will be joining a team that plays a key part in our wider IT department and within the University.

As Project Manager, you will be:

  • Driving the delivery of challenging IT projects delivering transformational change to the university.
  • Proactively championing a consistent approach to project management including project processes, project supporting tool-sets and the achievement of key project goals.
  • Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business needs in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders (including the Project Sponsor).
  • Running multiple IT projects through the entire project lifecycle including formal reporting of project progress and delivery to timescale.
  • Establishing appropriate project teams (including external suppliers), coordinating teams engaged in project work and providing project leadership, vision and direction.

As Project Manager, you will have:

  • Proven experience of managing teams to successfully deliver IT projects.
  • Experience of developing and delivering benefits realisation plans.
  • Experience of end to end project management including proven experience of preparing business cases, project initiation documents, planning and successfully delivering IT projects including risk management, issue resolution, contingencies and formalised project progress reporting.
  • Solid understanding of the full IT development lifecycle of managing projects, including analysis, design, testing, implementation, delivery and post-implementation support.
  • Experience of working with senior management and stakeholders to scope projects, manage customer expectations and support business process change.
  • Knowledge of the development of interfaces between IT systems (ETL).
  • Experience of working in a matrix management environment.
