Research Fellow

A Research Fellow is required to provide scientific support to Professor Terry Tetley, Professor Maria Belvisi and Dr Mark Birrell in the Respiratory Pharmacology Section within NHLI.

You will conduct research into the mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis and symptoms of chronic lung diseases such as asthma, COPD and IPF. Initially, this is a 2-year programme of research funded by AstraZeneca. The research work to be undertaken will be carried out to the highest standard and offers the opportunity to apply and extend your knowledge of relevant laboratory techniques

Your duties will include planning and carrying out research. You will be expected to execute experiments to a very high standard. You must have a relevant qualification and/or laboratory based experience. You must also have excellent organisational skills, a methodical approach and the ability to pay close attention to detail.

This work is primarily based at the South Kensington campus. The post is full time and fixed term until 31 December 2019.
