PLM (Project Lifecycle Management) System Facilitator

University of Sheffield - Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC)

As the AMRC continues to grow, we need to continually improve to maintain our world-class reputation. We have identified an opportunity for an experienced PLM System Facilitator to contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation, by facilitating functionality development and rollout, and maintenance of our Windchill PLM system.

We are seeking a candidate who has the same real passion for improving the day to day working practices of all personnel as we do, and is self-motivated to complete short- and long-term projects. Holding a good honours degree or equivalent experience in an IT or information management systems based discipline, you will be offered a clear progression route and be able to shape this new role. You will also be supported in your development to provide you with or enhance your skills with regard to the PTC suite of products allowing you to become the local subject matter expert.

In this role, you will provide AMRC wide support by working with personnel throughout the organisation and external parties. You will gain understanding of the requirements for the PLM system, and implement the necessary system configuration to enable the required functionality.

If you have an interest in high value manufacturing such as aerospace and automotive, then every day will bring the opportunity to work alongside personnel carrying out applied state of the art research relating to this technology. You will support step change improvements in our operating practices whilst being supported to develop your skills.

Your immediate colleagues will be two small teams (IT and Quality & Environmental Management) supporting a large and complex organisation. You will need to communicate effectively with a wide range of personnel, manage and prioritise a variable workload. Your exceptional IT and interpersonal skills will both be critical in successfully achieving the objectives of the role.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching, and student experience.
