Postdoctoral Research Associate in Cancer Biology Grade 7

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to develop and use in vitro and in vivo models to study the cross-talk of immune cells and cancer cells. You will interact and collaborate with an existing team of scientist and clinicians with diverse backgrounds inside and outside the department and take part in research activities that include cancer biology, immunotherapy, in vivo mouse models, in vivo imaging, and omics-based approaches. You will join a vibrant cancer research laboratory which is part of the North West Cancer Research Centre, Department of Molecular and Clinical Cancer Medicine, and the Institute of Translational Medicine at the University of Liverpool. The Institute of Translational Medicine offers a number of high-quality shared facilities, which will be critical for the project and which the post holder will interact and liaise. This includes state of the art pre-clinical in vivo imaging centre (MRI, MSOT, IVIS), flow and mass cytometry facility, microscope facility, histology core facility, and centres for genomic and/or proteomic research.

You should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD with excellent research record in one or more of the following fields: cancer biology, immunology, and/or biomedical sciences. You will be responsible for taking decisions regarding the project, obtaining data and planning future experiments. You will be an innovative individual with an interest in applying your research skills to a challenging project, and willing to learn new techniques. You will be expected to work within other members in our team and to work with our collaborators. You will also be expected to publish your results in a peer-reviewed journal.
