An exciting full time, permanent position has arisen within Event Exeter, a trading operation of the University of Exeter.

Event Exeter is a dynamic, award winning department within Campus Services. Our focus is to maximise income generation through the effective management of venue space, when not in use by students and staff. We set high standards and expect our team members to deliver exceptional customer service.

Together with providing a marketing, sales and event co-ordination service, the team also manages a number of the University’s venues, including the Great Hall, Forum, University Reception and Reed Hall Conference and Events Centre.

You will play a vital role within the Event Exeter team, with responsibility for increasing conference and event activity across the Exeter campuses by promoting the facilities available for commercial hire, whilst maintaining the integrity of academic activity, the student experience and the estate.

The main focus of this post is to:

  • Develop commercial sales in the local and national market place, whilst providing managerial support to the Event Sales Support team.
  • Provide group training, 121 coaching and development, and monitor and record financial results.
  • Be responsible for a portfolio of events where necessary.
  • The post will require you to be well organised with excellent attention to detail, highly motivated as well as flexible in your approach to working hours.

As a representative of an award winning team you will be expected to have excellent communication skills, be friendly and outgoing, whilst building and maintaining professional working relationships with your colleagues and customers alike. A key part of the role is to demonstrate the ability to work to targets, monitor KPI’s and deliver a pro-active approach to liaising with customers and identifying opportunities within the market place.
