The Research Support Office (RSO) has a vacancy for the post of Contracts Manager to cover an existing post holder’s career break. This fixed term role is available until 31 January 2019. Based in RSO’s Contracts Team, the successful applicant joins an established team providing a high quality academic research contract service for the University. RSO welcomes suitably qualified individuals looking for a fixed term opportunity, and will consider applicants seeking a secondment.

The post holder will review and draft appropriate agreements taking into account matters such as funders’ terms, University policy, risk profile of project, precedents and desired intellectual property and publication positions.

RSO is looking for someone who will manage expectations of service users and balance competing priorities, working collaboratively with other expert advisors within RSO and the University. The successful applicant will recognise and implement an appropriate balance between “the perfect contract” and a pragmatic solution.

The Research Support Office is responsible for developing, facilitating and supporting the University’s research activity. We offer specialist knowledge and targeted support to the University of Edinburgh's research community across the research lifecycle and particularly in the pursuit of funding. In 2016/17, the University secured over 1400 research awards worth in excess of £364M.

Salary on scale: £32,548 - £38,833 pa
