The salary will be paid within the Grade 7 scale currently: £41,212 to £49,149 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

As part of its strategic development in Engineering activity, the Department of Informatics is seeking applications from candidates for two positions of Lecturer in Electronic Engineering, starting in September 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter. 

The successful applicants for these posts will undertake research and teaching in an area of electronic engineering. They will be assigned to teach on the Department’s undergraduate programme in electronic engineering and related postgraduate programmes. The successful applicants may also be required to teach on other post-graduate or undergraduate degree programmes offered by the Department of Informatics, and will be expected to supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate projects.

Successful applicants will have a strong track record of research. The main research area of interest is information processing, with emphasis on signal processing, machine and statistical learning, and distributed optimization. Candidates with expertise in embedded systems, sensors, and wearable technologies would also be very welcome.

Applicants must have a PhD, an excellent publication record, and the ability to attract research funding.  It is essential that applicants have the enthusiasm and commitment required to contribute to the further development of the research standing of the Department of Informatics, and to make a full contribution to teaching and administrative activities. Research collaboration across research groups, with departmental hubs and with other Departments in the Faculty and across the College is strongly encouraged.

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview.

Presentations are proposed for 02/05/2018 and interviews proposed for 03/05/2018.
