An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional, highly organised and customer-focused administrator to join Huddersfield Business School to work as part of a small team providing a comprehensive and responsive administrative and secretarial support service to academic staff within the School, including members of the School Management Team and Research Centre Directors.

This is a busy and varied role requiring a meticulous attention to detail and an ability to multi-task to ensure that all tasks are executed effectively to the highest of standards.  The successful applicant will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and take pride in providing a service that exceeds expectations.

Key duties include:

  • Supporting the School’s research and innovation agenda through the provision of administrative and secretarial support for academic staff in their research and scholarly activities and associated duties. This might include: co-ordination and servicing of meetings and appointments; typing and formatting documents and presentations; drafting of routine responses to correspondence; and, updating content on the VLE.
  • The provision of a front-line initial response and information service for academic staff, and other stakeholders as appropriate, ensuring that matters are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
  • Under the guidance of academic staff, undertaking/coordinating certain activities on their behalf e.g. information gathering, resolution of issues, and the initiation of cross-functional projects such as events.
