Accommodation Officer

University of Cambridge - Selwyn College

Selwyn College wishes to appoint an experienced Accommodation Officer who will be based in the College Bursary. The post holder is expected to be the first point of contact for all matters relating to student bedrooms and flats. A key responsibility of the job is to ensure the Rooms Database is kept accurately up to date at all times and that charges are raised for all occupancy, in accordance with the College’s agreed schedule of prices. The College will be looking to the post holder to play an important part in allocating the rooms in the most appropriate and efficient manner, so as to maximise their usage throughout the year.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have excellent problem-solving skills and are numerate and fluent in English. Competency in MS Excel and Word is important and the role also requires a high degree of organisational ability, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with students, Fellows, other members of staff and visitors to the College.

The College offers excellent benefits including an occupational final salary pension scheme, free lunches, on-site parking and the opportunity for salary progression through performance-based increments.

Selwyn College is home to students of all backgrounds from the UK and across the world. We’re proud of our diversity. We therefore welcome staff whatever their race, gender, sexuality, disability or religious belief, and we’re keen to receive applications from people who may be under-represented in our community.

The appointed candidate will be required to apply for a Basic Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service before their appointment is confirmed.
