The Mark V Williams Scholarship

The Mark V Williams Postgraduate Scholarship supports a student on any Taught Masters course offered by the School of History, and was established by UEA Alumnus Mark Williams.

We are a diverse community of practitioners, scholars and academics who teach, research, and provide professional development. Our postgraduate students come from a wide variety of geographical and personal backgrounds, and it is the vibrant and dynamic community which they create that completes the student experience.

UEA’s School of History was rated third after Cambridge and Oxford in research intensity (REF 2014). The breadth and depth of our expertise is reflected in the programme, which encourages scholarly debate and independent research.

History at UEA is ranked Top 15 in the UK, according to the 2017 Guardian University Guide. The diverse range of modules available allows our students to specialise in periods (medieval, early modern or modern), approaches (political, economic, social or cultural), or themes (environment, religion, power and empire). Our teaching, undertaken in a stimulating and supportive learning environment, has been given a teaching satisfaction rating of 98 per cent in the 2017 Guardian University Guide.

This course is also available on a part-time basis.

The Mark V Williams Scholarship is worth £7,300, available as a tuition fee discount.
