We currently have the following vacancy within the Student Association;

The current Student Association President is due to step down at the end of June 2018, and therefore we are currently looking for a new Student Association President to continue the Association’s development. 

Supported by the Association’s Executive Officer and Clubs, Societies and Events Officer, you will be responsible for representing, promoting and heading up the Association, forming part of, amongst others, the Student Association Governing Board, the Academic Board and Performance Subcommittee, recruiting Association representatives and most importantly ensuring that the University responds appropriately and effectively to the student voice.

You will chair, facilitate and report to Student Parliament meetings.  You, along with your Campus Vice-Presidents, will seek to involve and collect the views of students across all campuses and study modes within the Association and then represent those views. You will be responsible for drawing up the Association’s proposed budget. You will seek to resolve any disputes between the Association and the University.

We are looking for someone who has experience of liaising with and speaking on behalf of others and of working with people at a variety of levels within an organisation. You will also have experience of delivering presentations.

You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a meticulous attention to detail, be welcoming of change and have a real desire to continue the development of the Association and making a difference to the student population at the University.

Candidates successful at interview may be required to conduct ‘hustings’ and then be elected by secret ballot from the student body.
